I gofio am y tenor Cymraeg Kenneth Bowen, a fu farw\u2019r llynedd, mae Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol Llangollen wedi datgelu y bydd yn cynnal premier byd o The Spring of Vision, a gyfansoddwyd gan Gyfarwyddwr Cerdd yr \u0175yl a ffrind i Bowen, Dr Edward-Rhys Harry.<\/p>\n

Ar nos Fercher 3ydd <\/sup>Gorffennaf, fe fydd y perfformiad yn defnyddio geiriau cerdd\u00a0 ddramatig Vernon Watkins, sydd o\u2019r un enw, i ddathlu bywyd Bowen – un o gantorion fwyaf disglair ei genhedlaeth. Yno i\u2019w berfformio bydd cast Cymreig, gan gynnwys Sh\u00e2n Cothi<\/a> (soprano) a Rhodri Prys Jones<\/a> (tenor), ynghyd \u00e2 Chor\u00e2l Cymry Llundain, Undeb Corawl Lerpwl a Ch\u00f4r Ieuenctid Wrecsam, i ganu fel un c\u00f4r mawr.<\/p>\n

Dyma fydd y tro cyntaf i Sh\u00e2n Coth<\/a>i a Rhodri Prys Jones<\/a> berfformio gyda\u2019i gilydd. Estynnwyd gwahoddiad i\u2019r ddau i ganu ar lwyfan Pafiliwn Brenhinol Llangollen wedi i Dr Edward-Rhys Harry glywed Sh\u00e2n yn cyfweld Rhodri ar ei rhaglen radio BBC Wales.<\/p>\n

Mae The Spring of Vision yn adrodd hanes breuddwyd Taliesin sydd, wrth gwestiynu cyflwr a dyfodol dynoliaeth, yn cael ei dywys ar siwrne o wrthdaro, rhyfel, ac yna’n cyrraedd at y weithred sy\u2019n diffinio dynoliaeth, sef aberth Crist ar y groes.<\/p>\n

Wrth drafod yr ysbrydoliaeth tu \u00f4l i\u2019r perfformiad, esbonia Edward-Rhys Harry: \u201cDydd Mercher fydd canolbwynt yr \u0175yl wythnos o hyd ac roeddwn eisiau i gerddoriaeth Gymraeg fod wrth galon yr Eisteddfod eleni.<\/p>\n

\u201cMae\u2019n fraint ac yn anrhydedd medru cyfansoddi darn er cof am fy ffrind ac ysbrydoliaeth, Kenneth Bowen, sy\u2019n dathlu Gwlad y G\u00e2n ar ei gorau. Buodd o\u2019n cydweithio am gyfnod hir gydag ysbrydoliaeth arall i mi, William Mathias CBE, ac yntau hefyd wnaeth sefydlu Cor\u00e2l Cymry Llundain, gr\u0175p y bum yn ffodus o\u2019u cyfarwyddo, felly fe fydd yn noson yn hyd yn oed mwy emosiynol gan fod y cor\u00e2l yn perfformio.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yn dilyn y lansiad yng Nghymru, fe fydd The Spring of Vision yn cael ei berfformio ar Orffennaf 6ed <\/sup>gan Gor\u00e2l Cymry Llundain yn St Giles Cripplegate, Barbican, Llundain – lle bydd \u0175yr Kenneth Bowen, Ruairi Bowen, yn canu rhan y tenor.<\/p>\n

Disgwylir i\u2019r noson fod yn ddathliad dramatig o gerddoriaeth draddodiadol Gymreig, yn llawn o alawon hyfryd a chorysau opera pwerus. Fe fydd yn ail hanner yn cynnwys perfformiad o gantata pwerus William Mathias, St Teilo, ynghyd \u00e2 pherfformiad dawns unigryw gan gwmni dawns o Langollen, New Dance Company. Ar ben hyn i gyd, byddwn yn dathlu coroni Llais Rhyngwladol y Dyfodol 2019.<\/p>\n
