Mae recordiadau sain wedi cael eu gwneud o Eisteddfod Llangollen ers yr \u0175yl gyntaf un yn 1947. Yn y rhan o’n Archif sydd ar hyn o bryd yn cael ei gadw ym Mhafiliwn yr Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol, mae gennym recordiad o G\u00f4r Ieuenctid Coedpoeth yn canu ‘Robin Ddiog’ yn ystod Eisteddfod 1947. Nid yw ansawdd y sain yn wych, ond am ychydig dros funud, gallwn fynd yn \u00f4l mewn amser, a gwrando ar y gr\u0175p ifanc hwn yn diddanu eu cynulleidfa, sy’n rhoi cymeradwyaeth fyddarol iddynt ar ddiwedd y g\u00e2n.<\/p>\n

Roedd g\u0175yl wedi’i seilio ar gerddoriaeth yn sicr o geisio dal hanfod yr hyn a oedd yn cael ei berfformio gan y corau, y grwpiau offerynnol a\u2019r unawdwyr a oedd yn cymryd rhan, a chan yr artistiaid a’r cerddorfeydd gwych a wahoddwyd fel gwesteion arbennig i\u2019r Eisteddfod. Mae’r recordiadau cynharaf ar ffurf disgiau 78 rpm, ac fel rheol corau unigol sydd ar y disgiau hyn. Roedd y recordiadau sain hyn yn aml yn cael eu darparu trwy garedigrwydd y BBC o’i darllediadau o Langollen. Mae’r mwyafrif o recordiadau yn Archif yr Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol yn cynnwys tapiau sain a wnaed o flwyddyn i flwyddyn ym mhob Eisteddfod, ac sy’n gofnod sain gwerthfawr o\u2019r rhai a gymerodd ran ym mhob un o’r cystadlaethau. Rhestrir y rhain fel \u2018Recordiadau Sain Swyddogol\u2019 a wnaed ar ran yr Eisteddfod. Mewn blynyddoedd mwy diweddar defnyddiwyd fformatau sain mwy cyfoes, fel y cas\u00e9t sain a’r CD, ac yn aml iawn cafodd y rhain eu gwerthu i’r cyhoedd mewn stondinau ar faes yr Eisteddfod.<\/p>\n

Mae rhai o’r recordiadau hyn yn dal i gael eu cadw ym Mhafiliwn yr Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol, ond mae’r mwyafrif wedi’u cadw dros y blynyddoedd yn Archif Sir Ddinbych yn Rhuthun. Un o amcanion ein Prosiect Archifo cyfredol yw digideiddio’r recordiadau hyn fel eu bod yn dod yn hygyrch i ymholwyr ac ymchwilwyr o bob cwr o’r byd.<\/p>\n

Mae detholiad bychan o recordiadau hwylus eisoes wedi’i wneud, a chr\u00ebwyd rhestr chwarae, sydd ar gael i’w chlywed yn y Babell Archifau yn ystod pob Wythnos Eisteddfod. Rydym yn gobeithio adeiladu ar y gwaith a wnaed eisoes, a chreu archif sain a fydd yn cadw llawer o dreftadaeth gerddorol Eisteddfod Llangollen ar gof a chadw i\u2019r dyfodol.
