Ar ddiwrnod cyntaf 70ain <\/sup>Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol Llangollen hanesyddol, dadorchuddiodd ei lywydd, sef yr ymgyrchydd heddwch nodedig, Terry Waite blac ar y maes lle cynhaliwyd yr \u0175yl am y tro cyntaf.<\/p>\n

Llwyfannwyd Eisteddfod 1947 ar beth yw cae chwarae Ysgol Dinas Br\u00e2n yn Llangollen erbyn hyn. Ei nod oedd helpu lleddfu creithiau\u2019r Ail Ryfel Byd a orffennodd dim ond ddwy flynedd yng nghynt.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Cafodd ei gynnal yno am y degawd nesaf hyd nes i\u2019r \u0175yl haf flynyddol symud i\u2019r Pafiliwn Rhyngwladol hynod fodern newydd a gafodd ei godi\u2019n arbennig ym Mhenddol gerllaw.<\/p>\n

Er mwyn nodi pen-blwydd yr \u0175yl, sy\u2019n rhedeg drwy\u2019r wythnos tan ddydd Sul, yn 70 oed, dadorchuddiwyd plac coffau ar yr hen safle gan Mr Waite.<\/p>\n

Yng ngwir ysbryd y ddealltwriaeth ryngwladol y mae\u2019r Eisteddfod yn enwog amdani, cafodd ei helpu gan y llysgennad heddwch o Albania, Fitim Mimari, oedd yn gwneud ymweliad arbennig \u00e2\u2019r \u0175yl.<\/p>\n

Ac er mawr syndod, croesawyd y cysylltiadau agos gydag Ysgol Dinas Br\u00e2n, pan alwodd Mr Waite ar un o\u2019i disgyblion ieuengaf i roi help llaw wrth dynnu\u2019r faner genedlaethol oddi ar y plac newydd.<\/p>\n

Rhoddwyd y darn o lechen Gymreig hardd yn dwyn yr arysgrif yn arbennig gan Ogofau Llechwedd ym Mlaenau Ffestiniog. Saif ar blinth o dywodfaen Rhosymedre a wnaeth un tro ffurfio rhan o waliau Ysbyty Bwthyn newydd ei ddymchwel Llangollen. Rhoddwyd hwnnw ar y cyd gan gwmn\u00efau Cynfen o Ddinbych a K&C Construction o Fae Cinmel, sy\u2019n adeiladu tai cymdeithasol ar y safle.<\/p>\n

Gan fod prosiect y plac wedi cael cymorth ariannol gan Gyngor Tref Llangollen, roedd y Maer lleol Mike Adams ymhlith y cynulliad mawr o bobl bwysig iawn a wyliodd y seremoni ochr yn ochr \u00e2 channoedd o blant yn chwifio baneri o Ysgol Dinas Br\u00e2n a dwy ysgol gynradd y dref, Ysgol y Gwernant ac Ysgol Bryn Collen.<\/p>\n

Dywedodd Dr Rhys Davies, cadeirydd yr Eisteddfod: \u201cSyniad y seremoni heddiw yw nid yn unig cofio\u2019r ffaith fod Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol gyntaf Llangollen wedi\u2019i chynnal yma ar y cae hwn, ond hefyd er mwyn codi ymwybyddiaeth o arwyddoc\u00e2d y safle, yn enwedig i ddisgyblion Ysgol Dinas Br\u00e2n a fydd yn pasio\u2019r plac hwn ddwywaith y dydd ar eu ffordd i\u2019r bws ysgol.\u201d<\/p>\n\"Llangollen\n

Cychwynnwyd y seremoni dadorchuddio gyda ffanffer dyrchafol gan ensemble pres yr ysgol ei hun a chafwyd rhagor o gerddoriaeth gan ferched c\u00f4r Bishop Anstey High School o Port of Spain yn Nhrinidad a ganodd ddwy g\u00e2n fel rhagarweiniad i\u2019w hymddangosiad yng nghystadlaethau cerddorol yr Eisteddfod yn nes ymlaen yn yr wythnos.<\/p>\n

Cyn dadorchuddio\u2019r plac, dywedodd Terry Waite a dreuliodd bedair blynedd fel gwystl gr\u0175p o frawychwyr o\u2019r Dwyrain Canol: \u201cRydym wedi bod yn cofio\u2019r Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf a Brwydr y Somme eleni, lle cafodd bron i 20,000 o filwyr Prydain a\u2019r Gymanwlad eu lladd mewn un diwrnod yn unig.<\/p>\n

\u201cDyna gost rhyfela, ond mae rhyfeloedd yn parhau i ddinistrio bywydau, eiddo a heddwch hyd heddiw.<\/p>\n

\u201cEfallai y bydd rhai\u2019n dweud ein bod ni bellach yn rhan o drydydd rhyfel byd ond un o fath gwahanol lle gall gweithredoedd terfysgol ddigwydd mewn unrhyw ran o\u2019r byd gan achosi anhrefn llwyr i fywydau\u2019r bobl sy\u2019n cael eu heffeithio ganddynt.<\/p>\n

\u201cCofiwn yn y seremoni hon am bobl Llangollen a oedd yn benderfynol, yn dilyn yr Ail Ryfel Byd, i ddefnyddio pa bynnag roddion oedd ganddynt i hyrwyddo heddwch a dealltwriaeth ymhlith pobl o wahanol ddiwylliannau a chrefyddau.<\/p>\n

\u201cDros y blynyddoedd, mae cerddoriaeth wedi dod \u00e2 phobl at ei gilydd ac wedi cael effaith ddofn ymhell y tu hwnt i ffiniau Llangollen.<\/p>\n

Ychwanegodd: \u201cFy neges i i\u2019r bobl ifanc fan hyn yw credu mewn heddwch a pheidio \u00e2 chredu nad oes dim y gallwch ei wneud i\u2019w gyflawni.<\/p>\n

\u201cMae\u2019r bobl o\u2019r ardal gymharol fach hon o Gymru wedi cael effaith o gwmpas y byd.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chwiliodd Mr Waite am un o\u2019r plant ysgol ieuengaf oedd yn gwylio ac fe\u2019i gwahoddwyd i ymuno yn y dadorchuddio.<\/p>\n

Yn ddiweddarach, dywedodd y ferch a ddewiswyd, sef Alyssa Nash, 11 oed o\u2019r Waun, sydd ym mlwyddyn chwech yn Ysgol Dinas Br\u00e2n: \u201cCefais sioc ei fod wedi fy newis i o flaen y lleill.<\/p>\n\"Llangollen\n

\u201cRoedd hi ychydig yn frawychus cael fy enw wedi\u2019i alw allan o flaen pawb ond mae\u2019n rhywbeth na fydda i fyth yn anghofio.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ymhlith y dorf oedd yn gwylio oedd Les Potts, 84 oed o Langollen a oedd yn yr Eisteddfod gyntaf ym 1947 fel gwirfoddolwr ifanc.<\/p>\n

Dywedodd: \u201cRoedd hi\u2019n wych gweld y plac yn cael ei ddadorchuddio.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoeddwn i yn yr Eisteddfod gyntaf honno gyda\u2019m tad, Robert, a oedd hefyd yn un o\u2019r gwirfoddolwyr cyntaf.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoeddwn i\u2019n gweithio fel rhyw fath o was bach, yn mynd \u00e2 negeseuon o gwmpas y maes gan nad oedd unrhyw ffonau i\u2019w cael bryd hynny.<\/p>\n

\u201cGweithiais ar y g\u00e2t allanol hefyd. Roeddem yn defnyddio stamp rwber i farcio breichiau\u2019r bobl oedd yn mynd i mewn ac allan. Roedd hynny cyn i rai o\u2019r gwragedd gwyno fod yr inc yn dod i ffwrdd ar eu ffrogiau a bu\u2019n rhaid i ni ddechrau cyhoeddi tocynnau ystafell gotiau yn lle hynny.<\/p>\n

Yn ogystal, roedd Mavis Evans o Langollen yno, sydd heb golli Eisteddfod\u00a0 ers iddi fynychu\u2019n ferch ysgol 15 oed ym 1947. Dywedodd: \u201cRoedd hi mor gyffrous bryd hynny i weld y coetsis a\u2019r siarabangau\u2019n cyrraedd a\u2019r trenau dan eu sang o gantorion a dawnswyr.<\/p>\n

Rydw i wedi byw yn Llangollen erioed ac felly rydw i wedi bod yn rhan o bethau erioed ac roedd fy nhad yn warantwr i\u2019r Eisteddfod gyntaf rhag ofn y byddai\u2019n methu ond diolch byth, wnaeth hi ddim ac mae wedi mynd o nerth i nerth.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoedd hi dipyn yn llai bryd hynny ond roedd hi\u2019r un mor gyffrous ac rydym yn dal mor frwdfrydig ag erioed. Tyfodd fy nheulu i fyny gydag ef ac mae pob un ohonom wedi bod yn wirfoddolwyr ac rwy\u2019n dal i gael fy nhocynnau bob blwyddyn.<\/p>\n

\u201cRwy\u2019n dal i gofio\u2019r Eisteddfod gyntaf a ch\u00f4r o Awstria\u2019n canu\u2019r Blue Danube ac ar \u00f4l hynny rwy\u2019n cofio\u2019r c\u00f4r plant Almaeneg a\u2019r Happy Wanderer a Dylan Thomas yn eu galw\u2019n \u2018angylion gyda phlethi\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
