Mae meibion sylfaenydd yr \u0175yl eiconig wedi gwneud ymweliad emosiynol fel gwesteion arbennig i 70ain<\/sup> Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol Llangollen.<\/p>\n

Bu\u2019r ddau frawd, Peter a Selwyn Tudor yn ymweld \u00e2\u2019r digwyddiad ddydd Gwener, a chawsant eu croesawu gan lywydd yr Eisteddfod, Terry Waite CBE a\u2019r cadeirydd, Rhys Davies, ac fe arhosodd Selwyn a\u2019i deulu i\u2019r cyngerdd ar y nos Wener.<\/p>\n

Mae gan y ddau atgofion hapus o\u2019u tad, Harold Tudor, a chysylltiadau eu teulu \u00e2\u2019r digwyddiad hanesyddol, gyda\u2019r mab ieuengaf, Selwyn, yn cofio\u2019r foment y cafodd ei ddiweddar dad ei ysbrydoli i greu\u2019r digwyddiad cyntaf ym 1947, digwyddiad sydd wedi dod yn symbol o heddwch a dealltwriaeth ryngwladol.<\/p>\n

Ar ddiwedd y 1940au roedd gan y newyddiadurwr Cymraeg, Harold Tudor, weledigaeth o greu digwyddiad diwylliannol mawreddog yn Llangollen, er mwyn helpu i leddfu creithiau\u2019r Ail Ryfel Byd.<\/p>\n

Dywedodd Selwyn, sydd bellach yn 81 oed ac yn byw yn West Heath, Birmingham, bod y freuddwyd wedi datblygu un bore pan oedd ef a\u2019i dad ar daith feiciau un bore dydd Sul yn y bryniau ger eu cartref yng Nghoedpoeth.<\/p>\n

Dywedodd: \u201cRoeddem wrth ein boddau yn mynd allan ar ein beiciau ar y lonydd gwledig ac un dydd Sul ar ddiwedd 1945 neu 1946 gwelsom fachgen ifanc tua 11 neu 12 oed – yr un oed \u00e2 mi ar y pryd – yn cerdded atom dros grib bryn yn canu nerth esgyrn ei ben.<\/p>\n

\u201cAeth heibio i ni ac fe wnaethom ei wylio nes iddo fynd o\u2019n golwg.<\/p>\n

\u201cY profiad o weld y bachgen yma yn gwneud ei hun mor hapus yn canu a roddodd y syniad i dad ddechrau\u2019r Eisteddfod, ac roedd bob amser yn dweud wrthyf wedyn mai dyma oedd y foment y dechreuodd y syniad felly roeddwn i yno ar y dechrau.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ychwanegodd Selwyn, a ddaeth i Langollen gyda\u2019i wraig, Ann, ei ferch Susan, ei fab-yng-nghyfraith Vincent a\u2019i wyres Caitlin: \u201cMae wedi bod yn wych bod yma eto gyda fy nheulu.<\/p>\n

\u201cRwyf wrth fy modd yn cerdded o amgylch y cae. Mae\u2019r awyrgylch yma yn drydanol ac eleni yn arbennig roedd nifer fawr o bobl yn fy adnabod a chefais fy synnu gan hyn \u2013 roedd Terry Waite hyd yn oed yn fy nghofio.<\/p>\n

\u201cNi wnaf fyth anghofio fy ymweliad cyntaf i\u2019r cae hwn yn 2004, cefais ias i lawr fy nghefn, ac mae hyn wedi digwydd eto heddiw.<\/p>\n

\u201cMae ein hwyres, Caitlin, yma ac mae\u2019n chwarae\u2019r ffliwt, felly efallai y bydd yn dod yma i gystadlu rhyw ddydd.<\/p>\n

Roedd ei frawd h\u0177n, Peter, sydd bellach yn 84 oed, ac sy\u2019n byw yn Stone yn Swydd Stafford yno hefyd, ac mae\u2019n cofio\u2019r cyffro oedd yn cael ei greu wrth i gystadleuwyr o bob rhan o Ewrop ddechrau casglu ynghyd yn yr \u0175yl gyntaf yn y dref fach yn Sir Ddinbych yn ystod haf 1947.<\/p>\n

Dywedodd: \u201cRoedd fy nhad yn dod yn wreiddiol o Dan-y-fron, ger Coedpoeth, ac ar \u00f4l mynychu Ysgol Grove Park yn Wrecsam, dechreuodd weithio fel is-olygydd i bapurau newydd y Post a\u2019r Echo yn Lerpwl.<\/p>\n

\u201cYn ystod yr Ail Ryfel Byd daeth yn aelod o\u2019r Cyngor Prydeinig, sefydliad a oedd yn arbenigo mewn cyfleoedd addysgol a diwylliannol rhyngwladol.<\/p>\n

\u201cCafodd y syniad o gynnal digwyddiad rhyngwladol o gantorion a dawnswyr ac roedd yn amlwg yn llawn persw\u00e2d ac fe weithiodd yn galed iawn i\u2019r syniad gael ei dderbyn. Fe lwyddodd yn y pen draw, a chafodd Llangollen ei ddewis fel lleoliad delfrydol, a chafodd fy nhad ei benodi yn gyfarwyddwr anrhydeddus cyhoeddusrwydd.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ychwanegodd: \u201cMae wedi bod yn wych gweld pobl yn parhau i ddod i Langollen o bob rhan o\u2019r byd a gallu cwrdd \u00e2 hwy a siarad gyda hwy.<\/p>\n

\u201cNid oedd ei gyfraniad yn sefydlu\u2019r Eisteddfod Ryngwladol yn hysbys iawn ond mae wedi derbyn cydnabyddiaeth well yn fwy diweddar. Rwyf yn sicr yn falch iawn o\u2019r hyn a wnaeth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dywedodd Cadeirydd yr Eisteddfod Rhys Davies: \u201cMae wedi bod yn wych gweld Peter a Selwyn yn yr \u0175yl unwaith eto eleni \u2013 mae eu tad wedi gadael etifeddiaeth fendigedig a pharhaol gyda\u2019r digwyddiad gwych hwn.<\/p>\n
